Parish Memories of Fr David Everitt

Father David Everitt is pictured above following the Sunday parish mass that prayed him on his way to Zimbabwe,
where he was to minister (July-September 2007) to the
Mother of Peace Community in their caring of 120 Aids orphans.

Whilst there he was living in Mutemwa, a village of 35 lepers and 25 handicapped destitute people with nowhere else to live.

On Sunday 8th July the parishioners at St. Joseph's were joined by the choir and families of the local Zimbabwe community who helped lead the singing in a wonderfully joyous celebration of the 10.30 am Sunday Mass. We prayed Father David on his way.

Pictured with Father David and Father John following the mass are
(left to right) Pauline (from Holy Cross), Kizito and Cecilia (from St. Joseph's)

Kizito explained to the congregation that he, Cecilia and Pauline were wearing their Guild uniforms -
Red for the Guild of the Sacred Heart, Brown for the Guild of St. Joseph and Blue for the Guild of Our Lady)

On Sunday 20th June we had in wonderful celebration in memory of Fr David organised by our Children's Liturgy.
His friends from the Mother of Peace Community came to talk to the children of the parish about their work
and his family joined us at the mass in his memory to present his special chalice to the Mother of Peace Community
