On Sunday morning at the 10.30 am mass at St Joseph's we have our Children's Liturgy. After the first hymn and welcome from Father John the children are invited forward for a blessing and then taken by the liturgy leaders to the Liturgy Room in the parish hall. The liturgy begins with a children's Penitential Rite and the themes of the day are then presented to them at a level they can understand, usually culminating in an activity - craft, drawing, drama, music, etc. The children return to the main church for the Offertory procession (with their creative offerings), where Father John invites them to explain to the congregation what they have been doing during their liturgy.

On the first Sunday of every month our children are invited to lead us in our prayer and worship - reading, serving and providing the music.
Any who would like to be involved in this monthly CHILDREN'S MASS
should contact one of the leaders, email us, or tell Fr John.
Help is always welcomed at the children's liturgies and the children's Mass, but anyone who would like to become involved is first asked to contact one of the liturgy leaders, Fr John, or email us at this website.

At Christmas 2005 the children of St Joseph's were given a gift - their own website. The website offer many facilities for the children: information about our parish and churches, about being a Catholic, competitions, music, webchat for those who register, and, most importantly, a weekly update ("What happened on Sunday") sharing what the children have been doing in their Sunday liturgy. These liturgy pages are a wonderful link for the children who cannot regularly come to mass and have become a very good resource for those planning the children's weekly liturgies - in our own parish and from elsewhere!
"Frankie" (Paul's former guide dog, above) is the mascot of the children's site and helps guide the children around their site.
The site's domain name ourliturgy.com was chosen by two of our children.
Do pay a visit to the website - you may even like leave a comment!
